Enchong Dee shares why he decided to be an entrepreneur

Enchong Dee shared what made him decide to venture into entrepreneurship.

In an interview with Bianca Gonzalez in the TFC show BRGY, the Kapamilya actor relayed: “At first it was more of, when I was growing up we don’t own anything. I don’t own my clothes, I don’t own any toys. We don’t own anything. I grew up in a very simple family life.”

He went on: “And then naalala ko na kapag may nakakasama ka na ka-edad mo, ‘Ah yeah we own that,’ sabi ko parang ang sarap naman ng feeling na masabi lang na, ‘We own that.’ So sabi ko when I have enough money, I want to be able to say na we own something so dun siya nag-start.”

The Kapamilya star added that he also decided to become a businessman as he realized that showbiz is not forever.

“Pangalawa, I have this fear na habang nagta-trabaho tayo, nare-realize ko wait sandali, ‘yung mga kasamahan ko nung nagsi-simula ako unti-unti silang nalalagas, not in a bad way, pero ‘yun talaga ang reality ng showbiz industry eh,” he pointed out.

“At one point people will be moving on from showbiz industry so sabi ko I want to take care of this. Nandito na ako eh, gusto ko siyang galingan but at the same time the reality is, once you reach a certain age, mababawasan at mababawasan ‘yung mga projects na darating sa’yo but I want to be able earn the same way as I’ve been earning in my peak. So sabi ko, okay I will invest with the things na dumating sa akin.”

Enchong highlighted that while he has been investing, he also evolved as a businessman through the things he learned along the way. “Habang nagi-invest ako, natututo din ako,” he said.

When it comes to his mindset now when it comes to business, Enchong shared: “I’m in the page right now wherein I want to invest only on the things that will be a billion-peso company. If it won’t reach that, I don’t think it’s worth your time. I don’t think it’s worth your effort to market it so nandun naman ako sa point na ‘yun. Nandun din ako sa point na ‘yun na I won’t be investing on a lot of things but rather on the quality investments.”

He added: “Ngayon I would just want to focus on quality more than the quantity of your investments.”
