EXCLUSIVE: Janine Gutierrez says joining Star Magic is in ‘perfect time and perfect opportunity’

Actress Janine Gutierrez has officially joined the Star Magic family, adding another milestone to her steadily rising career as a Kapamilya.

Janine first became part of ABS-CBN in 2021, where she went on to take on a wide range of roles that highlighted her versatility. She starred in Marry Me, Marry You, and led the iWantTFC queer series Sleep with Me. Her performances in Dirty Linen and Lavender Fields further established her as a formidable actress, earning her multiple accolades. By 2023, she renewed her contract with the network, continuing to hone her craft as a Kapamilya artist.

For the first time in her career, Janine officially signs with Star Magic, a move she described as both exciting and meaningful. In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, she shared how joining the premier talent management feels like a natural step forward.

“[I’m] so happy and I’m super excited to be part of the Star Magic family. Alam ko kung gaano sila ka-tight at kung gaano sila kagaling and I’m excited na mapabilang sa kanila, sa Star Magic family,” Janine expressed.

With more than a decade in the industry, Janine said her decision to sign with Star Magic was guided by her desire to grow further as an artist.

“I want to continue to keep on growing, to learn more, and to get more opportunities na alam ko talagang ‘yun ‘yung forte ng Star Magic through years of experience,” she said.

She also emphasized that the timing of her decision felt right, especially following her renewed commitment to the network. For her, joining Star Magic now aligns perfectly with the direction she wants to take in her career.

“Tsaka with this new network contract, I think perfect time and perfect opportunity na sumali na rin sa Star Magic family para talagang ma-guide ako sa next steps sa aking career and sa mga upcoming projects,” she added.

Despite her years of experience, Janine admitted that she still turned to someone close to her for guidance, her younger brother, Diego, whom she fondly calls “Kuya.” Having signed with Star Magic in March 2025, he was among the first people she consulted about her decision.

“Actually, siya nga yung hiningan ko ng advice kasi matagal na siyang Star Magic [artist]. Sabi ko, ‘Kuya, kamusta? Kamusta kayo ni Direk Lauren?’ ganyan… ‘Anong experience [mo] with all those mga Christmas Ball?’ Kasi pinapanood ko talaga ‘yun sa YouTube kasi inaabangan ko siya maglakad sa red carpet. So, in this case, siya ‘yung hiningan ko ng advice. Niloloko niya ako na ginaya ko [raw] siya at sinusundan ko,” Janine candidly expressed.

Now officially under Star Magic, Janine looks ahead with renewed excitement, ready to take on more projects and explore new dimensions in her artistic journey.
